Our Mission

To promote, encourage, and advocate breastfeedings as the best source of nutrition for infants that benefits the welfare of infants, families and the community.

To facilitate each mother's choice to breastfeed by providing professional counseling and education so that an informed choice can be made.

Make available to sell/rent and distribute the necessary breastfeeding supplies, equipment, education materials and others as appropriate.

To promote good health and parenting.

About Hawaii Mothers' Milk, Inc.

We are a private non-profit, Aloha United Way agency helping Hawaii's mothers since 1975. We promote, encourage and advocate breastfeeding as the healthiest source of nutrition that mothers can provide for their infants.  Hawaii Mothers' Milk, Inc. offers a number of services, which help families who choose to breastfeed their babies to enjoy a successful and healthy start. Some of the services that we provide are:

  • Health education and counseling for the nursing mother.
  • Assistance with breastfeeding problems or questions.
  • Assistance in special situations such as a hospitalized baby.
  • Rentals of hospital grade breast pumps. We carry Medela and Ameda/Egnell pumps.
  • Sales of breastfeeding pumps and supplies such as nursing bras, nursing pillows, freezer bags, slings and other products. We also carry replacement parts for various brands of breast pumps. 
  • Educational materials and information on breastfeeding.

Assistance with breastfeeding questions is provided by telephone via Warmline. In-office counseling for breastfeeding problems and trying the various breast pumps is provided to all clients free of charge.  Appointments are necessary to give our mothers ample time for questions. For more information or to make an appointment, call our Warmline at 808-949-1723. We are located at KAPI’OLANI Medical Center and are open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
